App: Cord · Developer: HopeBegins Today Organization
This page explains how to delete your Cord account and the information connected to it. You do not need to sign in to ask.
How to ask
- Email hello@cordedmarriages.com from the email address you use to sign in to Cord, with the subject Delete my Cord account.
- If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, include the address Apple created for Cord. On an iPhone you can find it in Settings, under your name, in Sign in with Apple.
- We may reply to confirm that the account is yours. We then delete it within 30 days, and email you when it is done.
Paying through Apple or Google? Cancel there too. Deleting your Cord account does not stop billing from the App Store or Google Play.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account: your email address and any Apple or Google sign-in identifier.
- Your name and your membership in the marriage.
- The encrypted records and photographs stored for your account.
- Your support messages, and the posts, threads and challenges you wrote in circles.
- Your subscription details, apart from the records described below.
If your spouse keeps their account
Much of what you write in Cord belongs to the marriage the two of you share — check-ins, dates, goals, memories and more. If your spouse keeps their account, those shared records stay available to them, because they are theirs too. To remove the marriage’s shared records completely, both of you should ask for deletion; say so in your email and we will confirm with you both.
What we keep, and for how long
- Payment records we are required by law to keep, for as long as the law requires.
- Copies in routine backups, which are overwritten within a limited period after deletion.
Deleting some data, not the whole account
You can also ask us to delete specific information while keeping your account — for example your circle posts or your support messages — by emailing hello@cordedmarriages.com.
More about how we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
